A Customs Specialist is required on a part-time, permanent basis for a decommissioning company based in Cove. The client is looking for candidates who can be available 5 days, totalling around 25 hours per week with hybrid working offered (1 day at home).

   

As Customs Specialist, you will ensure compliance by providing specialist knowledge on international and offshore customs requirements to the company.

       

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Being the first point of contact within the business for all offshore and international customs queries.
  • Obtaining and retaining customs paperwork.
  • Drafting import clearance instructions and export invoices (for UKCS and international).
  • Providing guidance and knowledge on customs legislation and compliance.
  • Checking import and export entries.
  • Data inputting into customs logs and compare against MSS reports.
  • Posting clearance amendments.
  • Managing clearance requirements for UKCS movements, both company owned, and third party.
  • Managing customs requirements for international movements as the company expands globally.
  • Providing general customs advice to staff.
  • Inward processing administration including quarterly bills of discharge.
  • Liaising with Vendors about DbyC for their supply of rental equipment.

         

Applications to this role require:

  • Experience in customs compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the customs rule changes impacting offshore movements.
  • Experience of UKCS and international customs movements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good planning, organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience of Maximo or similar ERP systems.
  • Customs experience within the energy industry.
  • Experience of dealing directly with HMRC.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and identify any upcoming problems early.
