Main duties and responsibilities

• Must be fully conversant with the company health, safety, environmental and quality policies, and procedures and complies with them at all times.
• To report to the Supply Chain Logistics Supervisor any problem areas or where regulations are not being fully complied with.
• Physical handling of all materials entering, leaving, or being relocated within yard and office premises.
• Daily maintenance of cargo handling equipment.
• Liaising with other department personnel regarding materials held on the premises – regarding location, status and suitability for onward processing or storage.
• Stock taking control as required by Supply Chain Logistics Supervisor.
• To maintain a satisfactory level of housekeeping of yard and associated premises.
• To cover for the Shipper/Receiver as and when required.

Applicants to this role require

• Physical handling of material being shipped, i.e. packing of containers and slinging of equipment.
• Handling of equipment sent ashore for storage or for repair and return.
• Carrying out maintenance checks of cargo handling equipment including containers, forklifts and lifting gear.
• Maintaining the yard and warehouse in a clean, tidy and organised manner.
