Currently recruiting for an experienced Instrument Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. It is a 12-month contract position, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.

    

Working within the Production Operations Department, the Instrument Engineer will provide discipline engineering and maintenance support to UK operations. 

      

The Instrument Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing frontline engineering support to operated assets to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of instrumentation.
  • Ensuring HSEQ procedures are followed and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all associated work.
  • Providing input and support to long-term facility modification and maintenance plans / programs to ensure cost effective operation and asset integrity throughout facility lifetime.
  • Providing budget input / scope for maintenance and modifications.
  • Responsible for continuously challenging technical solutions, engineering performance and cost of modification projects.
  • Identifying and raising technical queries where engineering support is required to resolve more complex technical issues.
  • Work preparation in support of preventive maintenance program execution, including detailed work packages, material delivery and specialist vendor resource.
  • Responsible for equipment performance including spare part management and warranty follow up.
  • Providing plans to manage obsolete equipment so that it does not impact safety or business performance.
  • Adhering to contract management processes and ensure vendor delivery is robustly managed for any assigned contracts.

       

Experience/Qualifications:

  • A relevant engineering degree qualification would be preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar Instrument Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly with a North Sea-based E&P company / operator, would be preferred.
  • Significant operational experience is essential.
  • Previous offshore experience would be preferred.
