TMM Recruitment are hiring a Project Manager on a permanent staff basis for our energy services client.

    

The PMs role is to have responsibility for the execution of allocated projects that fall within the company’s service offering. The PM should take the full scope through its entire project life cycle from initial specification / kick off, engineering phases through to the offshore execution or delivery. As a senior member of the projects team the role is also supporting the Senior Project Manager in the team’s development and mentoring programme.

         

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Communicating project progress including cost to budget, schedule to plan as well as early risk assessment and mitigation plans to senior management on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Acting as the senior customer interface, ensuring the client voice is heard and customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Recognising customer requirements and manage their expectations at all times, to ensure customer satisfaction at point of delivery/enquiry.
  • Facilitating kick-off meetings on successful awards with the relevant project team members.
  • Managing projects including scope of work, client interface and expectations, resources, budget, timelines, contract and deliverables.
  • Performing cost monitoring and control of allocated projects, producing both internal and client project progress reports.
  • Building a strong and effective working relationship with customers, partners, suppliers, and internal teams.

             

Applicants to this role require

  • Thorough knowledge of formal project management methods, processes, procedures, techniques, and tools – initiation-planning-execution-closure, earned value, critical path, MS project, different stages of planning, risk and issue assessment, requirements analysis, estimating and costing.
  • Ability to negotiate with clients in a project environment, present commercial and technical solutions for changes to work scopes to clients and develop win-win strategies.
  • Ability to work within a team and work across departments to achieve a common goal.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office applications, and database use and management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Skill and experience with small to medium scale projects.

         

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level is preferred.
  • Over 5 years of experience in project management and project engineering within an oil and gas or engineering service company is required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate is preferred.
  • Experience managing a project P&L, reviewing, and executing project contracts and managing client expectations.
