Senior Projects Planner - VR/28175
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Projects Planner to join our client, a leading E&P organisation on a contract basis initially until December 2024.
Overview job description
- Providing planning support for Pre-FID Projects; the Senior Project Planner will be responsible for the planning of Pre-FEED>FEED>Sanction> phases of the projects.
- Supporting the maturation of project schedules within the pre-FID stages (explore, assess, select, define) of the company International Stage Gate Process (CSGP) including tieback opportunities, infill drilling programs, facilities modifications, net zero – emission reduction technologies and electrification projects.
- Responsible for schedule development (high level summary schedules), maintenance and reporting (using P6).
- Developing/constructing/maintaining/all planning documentation for associated projects.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Being able to deliver precedence networks and demonstrate abilities to logic link activities and plans activities across multi discipline teams and develop integrated schedules to cover all areas (subsurface, D&C, engineering, commercial, permitting, HSE management systems, procurement and contracts, including financial commitments, internal approvals, assurance).
- Managing the Primavera Database about activity coding and ensuring database is maintained with correct and latest information for UK-wide reporting.
- Producing high level summary schedules for team communications/updates to NSTA/HQ/Partners.
- Managing change at various planning stages and clearly communicate the schedule impacts and opportunities.
- Verifying progress and performance against plan, identify areas of potential schedule overrun requiring corrective action, forecast completions and provide accurate and timely project reports.
- Clearly articulating the key dates in the plans and the associated planning calendar expectations (when inputs must be delivered, freeze dates, plan baselines etc.).
Applicants to this role require
- Extensive planning experience in the upstream oil and gas industry; onshore and offshore related experience with the capability to;
- Prepare level 3 plans as per the WBS and produce summary level 1 views for reporting/communications.
- Preparing precedence networks for the activities in relation to subsurface, D&C, brownfields modifications, business development, permits, HSE management systems, procurement, internal approvals and assurance.
- Extracting the planning information on durations, linkage and precursor activities.
- Carrying out critical path analysis and develop milestone tracking systems.
- Planning updates and management templates to measure, monitor and report progress.
- Planning scenarios for options under consideration.
- Analysis on mitigation measures and recovery planning and provide input to risk evaluation/analysis exercises.
- Detailed working knowledge and proven abilities in developing, implementing and maintaining integrated project plans within Primavera.
- Experience in well planning, drilling, brownfields, subsea and topsides scopes desirable (but not essential).
