A dynamic oil and gas exploration and production company operating in the North Sea is seeking a highly skilled Decom & Wells Contracts Manager for an initial 12-month contract. The company's assets include producing oil fields, major new developments, and several assets that have ceased production or are approaching decommissioning. You will play a pivotal part in driving strategic contracting and performance improvement, shaping the organisation's success.

    

As the Decom & Wells Contracts Manager, you will be at the forefront of strategic contracting across the organisation. Your main responsibilities will include developing and implementing a category management approach, creating annual procurement plans, and managing the entire contract lifecycle. You will lead post-award contract management, ensuring that contractors meet performance targets and business delivery needs.

          

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing a category management approach for strategic contracting, including annual contracting plans and regular category reviews.
  • Driving post-award contract performance management and managing contractor performance delivery.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective contract lifecycle management processes, from strategy development to contract performance.
  • Collaborating with key strategic contractors to monitor performance targets and business delivery needs.
  • Implementing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators aligned with business objectives (cost, quality, schedule, etc.).
  • Securing approvals from internal and external stakeholders for contract awards, ensuring compliance with governance processes.
  • Negotiating and finalising contracts in collaboration with the Legal Department, using standard contract templates.
  • Managing change effectively through Variation Orders and amendments during the contract lifecycle.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contributing to strategy development papers, invitations to tender, evaluation plans, and negotiation plans.
  • Conducting performance discussions with direct reports and mentoring emerging leaders within the department.
  • Managing the end-to-end contracting process for assigned initiatives, emphasising cost-saving and cost avoidance.

          

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in managing Decom & Wells contracts within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficient in Oil and Gas Supply Chain Management within the UKCS regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong commercial and contractual acumen.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Certifications such as CIPS, CSCP, PMP, CPSM are preferred.

           

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to travel offshore for certain business requirements.
  • Frequent visits to warehouses may be necessary.
