Currently recruiting for an experienced Environmental Advisor on a contract basis for an oil and gas operator based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. The initial contract duration is for 2 years, and the company is only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.

    

The Environmental Advisor will be expected to contribute to the continual improvement of asset and organisational environmental performance.  The post holder will be expected to support, challenge and advise HSE and Operations teams on environmental matters.   

The Environmental Advisor will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

     

  • Supporting Asset HSE Advisors in OPRED liaison, regulatory inspections or investigations, including: preparation, planning, collation of information, responses, action management and close out to the satisfaction of the regulator.
  • Ensuring that relevant environmental permit and consent applications, or variations, are prepared and submitted to the regulator and followed up on.
  • Ensuring regulatory requirements are communicated and understood. Maintaining and improving processes within the Management System to support asset compliance and improvement, as well as wider business objectives and targets.
  • Participating in and providing expert environmental advice, in relation to operational risk assessments, risk radars, management of change and operational activities (e.g. turnarounds and work packs).
  • Compiling and communicating relevant environmental information and data, including performance data, awareness material and E-rep and Hydrocarbon Release Prevention (HRP) support.
  • Providing independent Subject Matter Advisor specialist support to incidents records and internal incident investigations.
  • Participating in ER exercises, drills, training and rotas as required.
  • Representing the company through attendance at industry meetings, workshops and conferences.

    

Experience / Qualifications:

     

  • A relevant degree qualification would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar Environmental Advisor type role, within the oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly with an oil and gas operator, would be preferred.
