Head of Procurement - VR/30203
An experienced procurement leader is sought to drive excellence and value within a leading organisation in the offshore marine sector. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing procurement operations, optimising efficiency, and ensuring value for money. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and supporting the organisation’s operational and commercial objectives.
Role Overview:
As the Head of Procurement, you will report directly to the Managing Director and be responsible for ensuring a high-quality, efficient procurement system that supports the company’s fleet of managed vessels. You will lead a team spread across multiple locations, in the UK, Norway, and Egypt, and be accountable for optimising procurement processes, driving cost-efficiency, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the procurement department, managing the full contract lifecycle from supplier evaluation to contract negotiation and execution.
- Ensuring value for money and efficiency in the procurement of goods, services, and works.
- Actively participating in operational and commercial activities, contributing to problem analysis, reporting, and business development proposals.
- Working closely with the global team, focusing on vendor management and inventory control.
- Overseeing the preparation and development of procurement documentation, processes, and procedures to ensure alignment with the company’s Integrated Management System.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring optimal procurement performance.
- Supporting internal and external audits and contribute to bid and contract processes as required.
Key Requirements:
- Diploma in Marine Purchasing and Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification, with membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply).
- Proven experience in offshore marine services and oil & gas procurement.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and drive change across a team.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels.
- In-depth understanding of procurement and contract management processes.
- Experience managing teams across multiple international locations is desirable.
