Join a global FPSO company who are recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor to join their Portlethen office. This role is a temporary 12-month contract PAYE position with scope for potential extension. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

   

The Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for independent health and safety advice to ensure the company operate in a manner which is compliant with corporate objectives and applicable legislation. This role focusses on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) matters, but also incorporates some aspects of Major Accident Hazard Management. This role includes some routine operational support aspects but focusses on delivery of improvement projects, helping to continuously improve safety operations.

           

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Liaising with the asset and corporate management team as well as external organisations to develop and execute appropriate plans to manage, monitor and improve OHS performance and implement related projects including safety critical task analysis, leadership / safety coaching, action management.
  • Writing and/or updating procedures of the related projects.
  • Supporting Onshore and Offshore Teams in auditing and self-assurance activities.
  • Supporting Onshore And Offshore Teams in incident investigation and lessons learned.
  • Liaising on a day-to-day basis with the Lead HSE Engineer in Aberdeen.

            

Applicants to this role require:

  • Proven track record in an onshore/offshore Safety Advisor or similar role, preferably including longer-term improvement projects.
  • Willingness to perform activities onshore, offshore or with clients.
  • Visit assets on a regular basis.
  • Knowledge and/or interest in data handling and analysis (Power BI).
  • Experience with UK offshore health and safety legislation and requirements of main regulatory bodies.
  • Experience in auditing and incident investigation.
