Standalone HR Manager position with an agricultural business in North Aberdeenshire. Full-time and fully office-based, the successful applicant will join a growing company as their first ever HR professional. Reporting to the CEO, you will manage and develop all HR processes and policies, ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation.

    

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Working with managers and company Directors to develop a fit-for-purpose HR function.
  • Acting as the company’s UK employment legislation subject matter expert, with support available from an external provider if/when required.
  • Supporting managers with employee relations casework, leading investigations and providing proactive solutions.
  • Managing new and existing HR policies and procedures, employee handbook, and employee files.
  • Leading company recruitment drives, coordinating new hires and onboarding processes.
  • Overseeing the provision/management of mandatory training.
  • Improving absence management controls and procedures.
  • Leading HR projects, supporting and promoting business improvement initiatives.

          

Applicants to this role require

  • Demonstrable experience in a “hands on” Generalist HR role, ideally having supported a predominantly semi-skilled workforce.
  • Associate CIPD membership and/or other HR-related qualification or degree (desirable).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work on own initiative.
  • Experience working with company owners/directors.
  • Proactive problem-solver with strong communication and influencing skills.

              

Additional information

  • Fully office-based, own transport required for periodic meetings at other company sites (all in North Aberdeenshire).
  • Working hours are 08:30-17:00 (Monday to Thursday) and 08:30-16:00 (Friday).
  • Full-time position, but consideration will be given to strong applicants who are available 4 days per week.
