HSE Advisor - VR/26651
Join an oil and gas drilling company that is going through a fantastic period of growth. They are currently looking for a HSE Advisor on a permanent staff basis, to work at their office in Aberdeen. This is an onshore role, however, there will be an ad-hoc requirement for offshore travel. Excellent salary and package on offer.
As the HSE Advisor, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Supporting and maintaining HSE Audit and Business Improvement plans.
- Facilitating and supporting independent verification body, approval body, external provider and/or interested party audit and assessment activities.
- Facilitating personnel onboarding safety leadership inductions.
- Monitoring and supporting the timely close out of non-conformances, corrective actions and management of change reports.
- Supporting QHSE Investigations, Root Cause Analysis and the ongoing monitoring of preventative measures.
- Facilitating the delivery of HSE Knowledge and competence initiatives.
- Supporting Asset transition planning and activities.
- Attending and participating in HAZOP, HAZID, SIMOP’s sessions.
- Validating and verifying SEMS related plans as per documented procedures.
- Reviewing and maintaining Safety Cases and SEMS.
- Actively supporting emergency response duties.
- Supporting and mentoring onshore and offshore HSE resources.
- Providing HSE support for Marine operations.
- Supporting Occupational Health and Environmental monitoring.
- Acting as Focal point and liaising with offshore safety representatives.
Key Outcomes
Through proactive Human Factors & Behavioural based safety methodologies
- Inductions completed to meet the onboarding schedules.
- Accident/Incident prevention through Improved Hazard identification and control initiatives.
- Inductions completed to meet the onboarding schedules.
- Effective reporting and responses to observations raised through the SEMS reporting systems (i.e. 0 repeat reports).
- Proactive monitoring and engagement with Contractors/External providers.
Safety Case and SEMS compliance
- Proactive and reactive monitoring of performance and engagement with personnel.
- Reporting and closing out of SEMS actions in accordance with agreed KPI’s/timescales.
- Providing Management reports in line with agreed timescales.
- Verification and Approval body compliance (i.e. 0 x Major N/C).
- Providing HSE deliverables required as part of Project HSE plans.
- Compliance with approval body and regulatory requirements (i.e. ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, 45001:2018).
Key Experience/Qualifications:
Essential
- Experience in Drilling Rig Operations (Jack-ups/ Semi submersible).
- Minimum 5 years. experience in the Management of QHSE Managements systems.
- Health and Safety Qualification at NEBOSH General Certificate level or equivalent.
- Investigation and Root Cause Analysis Training.
- Experience in the use of software packages for the implementation of a QHSE MS.
- UK minimum safety training (i.e. BOSIET, MIST etc.).
Desired
- Knowledge and experience of Well Plug and Abandonment and/or Decommissioning activities.
- CPD maintained in accordance with relevant Professional bodies (i.e. CQI, IOSH, IEMA).
- Certified Internal Auditor Training as recognised by IRCA.
- Certified Lead Auditor Training as recognised by IRCA.
