Currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Static Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P Company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. The contract is currently due to run until the end of September 2024 and the company is only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.

     

The Mechanical Static Engineer will provide mechanical engineering support and assurance services to operated assets to ensure safe and cost-effective production. 

         

The Mechanical Static Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitoring equipment/system performance, as well as initiating and ensuring corrective actions.
  • Responsible for discipline engineering and maintenance support to UK operations.
  • Providing frontline mechanical engineering support to operated assets to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of mechanical equipment.
  • Providing input and support to long term facility modification and maintenance plans/programs to ensure cost effective operation and asset integrity throughout facility lifetime.
  • Providing budget input/scope for maintenance and modifications.
  • Continuously challenging technical solutions, engineering performance and cost of modification projects.
  • Identifying and raising technical queries where engineering support is required to resolve more complex technical issues.
  • Work preparation in support of preventive maintenance program execution, including detailed work packages, materiel delivery and specialist vendor resource.
  • Responsible for equipment performance including spare part management and warranty follow up.
  • Providing plans to manage obsolete equipment so that it does not impact safety or business performance.
  • Adhering to contract management processes and ensure vendor delivery is robustly managed for any assigned contracts.
  • Demonstrating appreciation of commercial and technical risks, managing these appropriately within own work and highlighting any significant issues to relevant line manager.
  • Influencing and collaborating with the asset leadership teams and all other relevant stakeholders.

            

Experience / Qualifications:

  • A relevant engineering degree qualification would be preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer status would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar Mechanical Static Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, directly with a North Sea-based E&P company/operator, would be preferred.
  • Extensive operational and engineering experience is essential.
  • Applicants should have previous offshore experience.
