Join a growing oil and gas hydraulics company who are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer with specific experience in small bore tubing.

   

As the Project Engineer, you will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Project Management of both Small Bore Tubing (SBT) and Hydraulics work scopes within the IAR Division.
  • Providing assistance and supervision with continuous development of SBT in house systems, reporting and awareness training.
  • Hands on execution/support of projects on site and in workshop as required in accordance with the work pack and customer instructions.
  • Ensuring owned equipment is serviced and maintained in accordance with OEM requirements.
  • Housekeeping of Hydraulics workshop and work area.
  • Visually inspecting customer’s SBT and Hydraulic Systems onsite, in line with the company’s inspection procedures.
  • Inspecting and recording condition, type, application, and components, in line with procedures.
  • Assessing the suitability of the SBT and Hydraulic Systems for the application and to recommend changes as appropriate.
  • Completing all documentation on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Inputting site service results into the HIMS database.
  • Submitting a report with details of unsatisfactory SBT and Hydraulic Systems to the customer’s representative and recommend possible solutions, where applicable.
  • Writing and submitting a final ‘End of Survey’ reports.
  • Ensuring the accurate completion and submission of timesheets.
  • Recommending possible solutions to problems identified with the customer SBT and Hydraulic System applications or operating procedures.
  • Developing a ‘Bill of Materials’ for replacing SBT and Hydraulic systems, assembling, fitting, flush and test of SBT systems onshore and offshore.
  • Ensuring that work is completed in line with the company’s quality procedures and customer specifications.
  • Ensuring that work activities are executed in accordance with the company’s HSE Management System and, when onsite or offshore, in accordance with the customer’s site rules.
  • Participating and assisting with internal and external safety and quality audits.
  • Adopting and promoting good and safe working practices at all times.
  • Ensuring that work areas are maintained clean and hazard free and in accordance with company and customer rules at all times.
  • Ensuring that risks are assessed, and risk assessments completed, where applicable.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with the Operations Team and key interfaces within other departments.
  • Supporting and achieving the organisation and department’s targets and objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding, agreeing, and achieving personal objectives set by line Manager.
  • Putting forward any suggestions for improvements.
  • Attending formal information briefings, when requested
  • Being a team member and actively promoting communication and information sharing.

             

Experience/Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Experience in the Small Bore Tubing and Hydraulic service industry.
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic circuit diagrams, P&IDs and GAs.
  • Experience in pressure testing, hydraulic filtration, hot oil flushing, and condition monitoring.
  • Experience in Hydraulic bolt torquing and joint integrity.
  • Offshore experience.
  • Good knowledge about hydraulic and instrument fittings and threads.
  • Experience in hydraulic accumulator pre-charging, maintenance, and servicing.
  • Mechanical and hydraulics engineering background and qualifications (degree or similar).
  • ECITB TSBT01 & TSBT02.
  • BFPA Cetop level 2 or Industrial hydraulics certificate course (or equivalent).

         

Desirable:

  • Commissioning of hydraulic equipment.
  • Project knowledge on calibration and certification requirements.
  • Small bore tubing and hydraulics product knowledge
  • Hydraulic engineering knowledge/background.
  • ECITB TSBT01 and TSBT02.
  • BFPA Cetop level 2 or Industrial hydraulics certificate course (or equivalent).
  • N2 awareness course.
  • Hydraulic System Contamination Management qualification.
