ROV Pilot Technician
Our client is looking for an ROV Pilot Technician to carry out ROV operations in compliance with approved specifications/operative procedures to a high quality and in compliance with Company safety procedures and legislation relating to ROV Systems. The successful candidate needs to have work class experience and preferably within a contraction background.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsibility for the maintenance and operation of the ROV system.
- Responsible for adhering to the Company's Safe Operating Procedures.
- Be conversant with the relevant items and conditions of the Contract.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed and filed as required by the contract and Quality Assurance System.
- Assist in the preparation of all required documentation.
- Assist the ROV Supervisor in running operations in a professional and cost effective manner. Assist with the system demobilisation so that it is always in a condition ready for contract.
Responsibilities - Operations
- Maintain close liaison with the ROV Supervisor and other crew members.
- Attend briefings prior to every dive.
- Assist in the safe navigation of the ROV during other subsea operations, in order to prevent entanglement.
- Ensure that each dive tape and daily documentation is correctly completed and cross referenced.
Responsibilities - Safety
- Attend safety meetings as laid down in the Safe Operating Procedures.
- Ensure awareness of the Safe Operating Procedures concerning relevant ROV and support equipment.
- Ensure attendance at regular safety inspections/meetings as per Company procedures.
- To become familiar with and to maintain awareness of current requirements and where applicable, the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations.
- To ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with specific procedures.
- To ensure his/her own safety and that of others is not compromised or placed at risk.
Responsibilities - Maintenance
- Assist in the servicing and maintenance of the ROV and support equipment.
- Ensure that all preventative maintenance and repair work is logged and filed as per the Company's Quality System and Operations Manual.
Responsibilities - Training and Assessment
- Be attentive to any training and assessing of the team in all aspects of the ROV system, operation, maintenance, piloting, safe operating procedures, data recording and general operational requirements.
- Review Appraisal Forms completed by the ROV Supervisor.
Responsibilities - Client Liaison
- Attend pre-dive briefings with Client.
- Maintain direct liaison with the ROV Supervisor who will in turn liaise with the Client, OIM, Captain and Safety Representative.
Responsibilities - System Modifications
- Assist with any technical developments or suggestions that will enhance the overall technical and operational capabilities of the ROV system.
Responsibilities - Inventory
- Assist in keeping the ROV system inventory up to date and maintained as per the Offshore Inventory Control System (OCIS).
- Assist in ensuring that all necessary spare parts are available and fit for purpose.
EDUCTION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
College/University Education
- Required university, college or industry education and/or training in a Marine, Hydraulic, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic discipline/trade.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Required previous experience with relevant ROV Operations conducting maintenance and piloting experience.
- The successful candidate needs to have work class experience and preferably within a contraction background.
