Currently recruiting for a Scaffolding Manager on a permanent staff basis for an Oil and Gas client based in Aberdeen.

Based onshore, the Scaffolding Manager will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

Product Line Strategy and Plans:

  • Supporting the implementation of specific Product Line(s) strategies.
  • Ensuring delivery of key business drivers (HSE, Profitability, Quality, Efficiency) for the Product Line within function and in alignment with client contract specifics.
  • Engaging with and providing direction to all product line team members under their direct report.
  • Communicating plans and objectives with various management levels.

Business Planning and Reporting:

  • Developing annual Product Line budgets in alignment with strategic plans.
  • Monitoring and reporting on performance against plan, making changes / corrective actions as required and evaluating results against plan.
  • Ensuring regular reviewing and reporting of progress in realisation of strategic plans, business plans and financial results.

Business Development:

  • Identifying, investigating and negotiating new business opportunities, including enhancement and extension of existing contracts.
  • Building strong relationships with standalone customers to enhance Product Line sales.
  • Working with the Key Account Teams, who will identify and deliver the main customer base.

Business Unit Management:

  • Ensuring that effective use is made of business / operational management systems required to enable the service delivery operations to be managed, controlled and reported on.
  • Ensuring effective collaboration and cooperation between functional disciplines in order to achieve effective implementation of the business strategy.
  • Managing the operations of the Product Line areas / markets and business functions.
  • Delivering technical resources and solutions to facilitate and support UK and Africa growth in the identified market sectors.

Staff Management and Performance:

  • Ensuring that there is sufficient and competent resources to satisfy on-going project demand.
  • Leading, managing and developing business unit staff.
  • Ensuring that technical knowledge is retained and developed within team.
  • Ensuring that P&D’s are maintained.

Experience / Skills:

  • Previous and specific experience in a Scaffolding Manager type role within the fabric maintenance field - within the oil and gas industry - is essential.
  • The successful candidate will ideally possess around 10 years’ worth of supervisory / management and technical experience within the scaffolding field.
  • The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge and confidence in offering Scaffolding Specifications to provide longevity and cost management of Fabric Maintenance services.
  • Applicants will be expected to have extensive knowledge of CISRS and NASC, as well as a detailed understanding of legislative and scaffolding industry “best practice” standards.
  • Offshore experience would be desirable.
