• The inspection, cleaning and maintenance of transportable chemical tanks.

Main Tasks:

• To carry out visual inspection of transportable tank frames, vessels and associated valves/fittings and to raise associated reports.
• To sample chemicals and confirm suitability of tank for cleaning.
• To undertake cleaning of tank frames, vessels and associated valves and fittings.
• To drive a forklift truck to move tanks and other units within the base.
• To comply with all safety, quality and environmental procedures and standing instructions which relate to tank inspection and cleaning activities.

Responsibilities:

• Using the handheld to record when withdrawing items from the tank stores.
• Using the handheld to complete the appropriate records when confirming the status of a tank.
• The safe use of forklift trucks in accordance with training provided.
• Undertaking all duties in accordance with company procedures and standing instructions to ensure their own safety and the safety of their colleagues.

Relationships: 

• The jobholder will work closely with the Tank Cleaning Chargehand and Chemical Tank Supervisor.
