Reporting directly to the Finance and Corporate Affairs Director who, in turn, reports to the Managing Director, this contract has the potential to develop into a longer-term post. A hybrid working pattern between the office in London and working remotely is available, but candidates should be based a commutable distance from the office.

    

Initially, the Technical Interface and IT Manager will not have any direct reports but will own a number of vendor relationships who support the IT systems. This may evolve over time depending on business development.

      

Overview Job Description:

This role will be responsible for all IT operational aspects, ensuring the organisation, implementation, monitoring, and management of all company’s IT systems, infrastructure, equipment, and service providers (including EV charging platforms, ERP, desktop applications, security, operating systems, databases and hardware). The Technical Interface and IT Manager will have an immediate impact in this JV with setting the direction of IT for the JV and improving the day-to-day efficiency of our operations.

A newly formed Joint Venture for Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Hubs, UK & Ireland. The start-up JV has an initial target of supplying 300 hubs or 3,000 charging sockets within 5 years, CAPEX of £300 million for 300 hubs, 100 of non-EV ancillary services to be contracted by 2027 and 250 GWh electricity sales by 2027. The company size is estimated to be initially 70 to eventually 100 people.

         

The Technical IT Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing IT strategy and roadmap that aligns to the company's goals and objectives.
  • Accounting for all IT operations in the JV. This includes but is not limited to IT budget management (Capex and Opex), resources (internal/external), third party vendor management, IT policy and processes definition/management, IT delivery and reporting.
  • Providing system administration/applications and technical support to the business for any IT related issues and overseeing any IT/OT third party vendor where required through resolution and/or implementation.
  • Implementing and maintaining effective physical, information and cyber security to protect the company's assets. This includes establishing and enforcing security policies, defining business continuity/disaster recovery plans, conducting regular audits and ensuring adherence for any accreditations is met (e.g CyberEssentials).
  • Planning, executing, and overseeing IT projects, such as software implementations, infrastructure upgrades, or system integrations/interfaces. This involves defining project scope, analysing risks, organisation, timelines, and deliverables, allocating resources, managing risks, and ensuring successful project completion in respecting approved budget.
  • Managing software and hardware provisioning to the company.
  • Overseeing and administering key IT solutions, including the company’s Microsoft 365 collaboration suite.
  • Ensuring all IT systems’ users are sufficiently trained, identifying company-wide training requirements, developing suitable training programs to address the needs.
  • Collaborating and communicating effectively with all key stakeholders, including senior management, department heads and end users.

          

Applicants to this role require:

  • Considerable business IT/IS/OT management experience in relevant background. A master’s degree level in an IT field is desirable but not essential.
  • Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions.
  • Proactive mindset, appetite for innovation and eagerness to keep up with the evolution of technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, exceptional team player with start-up spirit, customer orientated.
  • Flexible, dedicated, self-motivated, high energy, with both broad picture and detail orientation.
  • Strong ability to work efficiently and effectively within tight deadlines, operate independently and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in the renewable energy or EV charging industry is desirable.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is required, additional French proficiency is desirable but not mandatory.
