Celebrating Success: Meet Our 2025 Award Winners
10th March 2025
by Amanda McCulloch, Chief Executive
There's never enough time in a busy (sometimes frantic) workplace. I'm sure you can relate—there's always a deadline to meet, a target to achieve, a problem to solve, or a phone call to take.
That's why I love our internal awards so much. They give the whole team a chance to pause and think carefully about each other's achievements and what we admire in one another.
More than sharing a few words of encouragement, our peer-voted Thorpe Molloy McCulloch Business Awards, known as the TAMMBAs, are a celebration that signals, "You are the best, your contributions are seen, you've gone above and beyond and others can emulate what you do."
By integrating awards into a broader employee experience strategy, employers can create a culture that fuels motivation, retains top talent, and enhances their company brand.
Unleashing Pride And Inspiring Others
Do you know the feeling when someone genuinely appreciates your hard work? This is what my colleague Hannah Smith posted on Linkedin about her award win:
"To even be nominated, let alone win the award means the absolute world to me - and in all honesty, I think I am still in shock."
Recognition fuels confidence and pride in what you do. When we celebrate each other’s successes, we reward individuals and create an environment where everyone feels valued and inspired to aim higher. And I'll be honest: healthy competition never hurts in a sales environment!
Why it could work for your business: Employees who receive awards feel seen and valued, fueling their motivation to contribute even more. This sense of achievement extends beyond the individual, inspiring peers and creating a workplace where success is shared. Employees who take pride in their work are more engaged, loyal, and likely to advocate for their company—turning them into powerful brand ambassadors for your business.
Setting The Bar And Raising It Higher
Our awards aren’t just about celebrating the big wins; they highlight what great looks like in our business. They set a benchmark, showcasing the behaviours, attitudes, and achievements that align with our company values.
When we see a colleague recognised for their teamwork, customer service or professionalism, it reminds us of what’s possible when we bring our best to work daily.
Why it could work for your business: When employees see colleagues being recognised, it provides a clear understanding of success and encourages continuous improvement. It fosters a culture where high performance, collaboration, and innovation are the norm. These benchmarks also help managers identify and nurture top talent.
Building A Culture People Want To Be Part Of
A strong, positive culture doesn’t happen by accident. It’s shaped by the way we treat each other, the way we collaborate, and the way we celebrate success. We recently completed a review of our company values, and I led workshops with everyone on our team to discuss what our values in action looked like daily. These workshops and the TAMMBAs are part of a wider programme of initiatives that keep our team engaged and our workplace one that people genuinely enjoy being part of.
Why it could work for your business: When awards reflect company values, they reinforce the behaviours that shape the business’s identity, and that doesn’t just engage current employees, it also becomes a differentiator when attracting new talent.
Why It Matters For Recruitment
People want to work for companies that appreciate their teams, and our awards are one of the ways we show that we do.
Why it could work for your business: During the hiring process, prospective employees often look for signs that a company invests in its workforce and where achievements are acknowledged and celebrated. A company with a strong culture of recognition naturally stands out as a desirable employer.
New employees are more likely to feel engaged when they join a business that visibly values and rewards its people too.
