Apply To Work At Somebody Cares
3rd February 2022
People are living in desperately difficult circumstances as a result of benefit changes and major increases in food prices and rising utility bills.
Somebody Cares Scotland anticipates that the need for support is going to increase exponentially over the next few years and it must grow in order to meet the demand for services it provides to communities and individuals across Aberdeen city and shire.
Somebody Cares Scotland is a charity committed to improving the welfare of the impoverished of Aberdeen. As well as operating a very busy food bank, the charity collects donations of second-hand furniture, clothes, toys, and household items which are either given directly (for free) to those that need them or sold at its Megastore to generate the income required to pay the charity overheads.
Established in 2002, Somebody Cares Scotland exists to support those within the local area who for many reasons are facing challenging times. The charity's purposes are:
- The prevention or relief of poverty within Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
- The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, or another disadvantage.
The charity is managing its own recruitment but we are pleased to support its efforts by sharing the roles it urgently needs to fill:
- Part-time Senior Administrator
- Business Development Manager
- Online Sales Executive
- Driver / Warehouseman
Finding people with the right attitude and personality is key. It's important you are charitable-minded and hard-working, willing to go the extra mile to help Somebody Cares Scotland achieve its aims of supporting all those who need its help in Aberdeen and the shire.
Working here means you will be in an environment where you are appreciated and your work has real impact and meaning, Chief Operating Officer, Alison Topley explains:
"We want everyone who gives us hours of their time to be able to work to the very best of their ability (and beyond) in an environment that they enjoy turning up to each day, at the same time as feeling that they have achieved their sense of social responsibility and made a real difference to other people's lives."
You can view the job specifications for these roles on the recruitment page of the Somebody Cares website. To apply please send your CV and covering letter to hr@somebodycaresscotland.org
